Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup rice powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder
  • 1 tablespoon caraway powder
  • 1 teaspoon anise powder
  • 1 cup almonds peeled and halved
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1/4 cup pine nuts
  • 1 cup shredded coconut

Instructions

Instructions:

    Prepare the Mixture:

    • Combine the rice powder, sugar, cinnamon powder, caraway powder, and anise powder in a large pot.
    • Add 8 cups of water to the pot and mix well to combine all the ingredients.

    Cooking:

    • Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugar and prevent clumping.
    • Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for about 20 minutes, stirring frequently. The consistency should resemble that of rice pudding.
    • Continue cooking until the mixture thickens, ensuring it doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot. Stirring is essential to achieve a smooth texture.

    Serve:

    • Please remove it from the heat once the Meghli has reached the desired consistency. Pour the mixture into small cups or serving bowls.
    • Allow the Meghli to cool to room temperature, then transfer the cups to the refrigerator to chill for at least a few hours or until set.

    Garnish:

    • Before serving, garnish each serving of Meghli with shredded coconut, soaked and drained walnuts, almonds, and pine nuts.
