Vanilla sugar

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups (400 g) sugar
  • 2 vanilla beans, split lengthwise 

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Scrape the seeds from the bean pods.
  2. Combine the bean pods, seeds, and sugar in a jar.
  3. Cover securely and allow to sit for several weeks to scent and flavour the sugar. 
  4. Use vanilla sugar in place of regular sugar when baking desserts.
